Nothing really interesting happened this week so there really isn’t much to talk about. I guess I’ll just my goofy little segments here do all of the talking for me this time around.

Track of the Week
Me and JD (@rodeorock17) did another episode of Rebel Rock Radio. This week, we took a dive into the life of Saw Gerrera. I had a good time talking about him. He is one of my favorite Star Wars characters. We also played tunes from Go Betty Go, The Dogmatics, and Save Ferris. Check out the replay on YouTube below:
I also checked out a video that Spencer did as part of his Comic Club series. It’s not a new one. He did it back in October. It was a discussion about Wonder Woman #1 from the current WW run. It was a good one. You can check out the replay on YouTube here:
Punk Lotto Pod dropped a new episode this week as well. This time around, they dove into the 1991 Pegboy album Strong Reaction. Check it out on Spotify here:
If you’ve been paying attention, you might notice that I haven’t written a Gaming Stuff segment since issue #66.
I haven’t been playing Pirate Borg lately unfortunately. My Mondays have been getting tied up and I haven’t been able to make it to the gaming store. Hopefully, after the holidays, I’ll be able to make it there again and play some.
Also, last time I wrote, I was still deep in another play-through of Cyberpunk 2077. Since then, I have finished that game and started playing the Bethesda game Starfield. I really like Starfield and I’ve been pretty deep into that. However, yesterday, I got a wild hair to do another play-through of Arkham City. Arkham City is one of my all time favorite video games. If you haven’t played it, I recommend it.
I forgot to mention this in my last issue but a couple of weeks ago I took a trip down to Dallas to see The Menzingers. I have seen them before but never as a headlining band. I saw them open for Frank Turner (also down in Dallas) a few years ago at the House of Blues. I also saw them at Riot Fest last year (2022). This time, they played the South Side Music Hall in downtown Dallas. It was a really good show. I’m glad that I went. I took a train down there because I didn’t feel like driving. The train was an overall pleasant experience. I would probably do it again.
Also, if you haven’t already checked it out, I posted my favorite albums of 2023 here.
I watched a theatrical re-release of the original Die Hard movie last weekend. Nobody can tell me that Die Hard is NOT a Xmas movie. There are Xmas references all throughout that movie. Despite the fact that it is a great movie anyway. Interesting factoid (or maybe not so interesting), I saw Die Hard 2 in the theater without ever having seen the first Die Hard. I like the franchise. I like most of the Die Hard movies. I think maybe the third is my favorite? Or maybe the second. I’m not sure.
Back in September, I mentioned that I had stopped all of my comic book subscriptions except for the Star Wars ones. Well, I have done another bit of a shuffle. With the exception of Doctor Aphra and Darth Vader, I have removed the subscriptions for the other Star Wars comics. Those two lately have been the only ones that I have really been interested in reading. Other than those two comics, however, I have added two other comics to my subscription list. I am now also subscribing to the current Chip Zdarky run of Batman and the current Tom King run of Wonder Woman.
I’ve been reading a bunch of graphic novels this week. Here’s a list of what I’ve been reading:
Heroes by Chuck Kim (completed)
Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow by Tom King (completed)
The Bat-Man of Gotham by Chip Zdarsky (completed)
Joker: Killer Smile by Jeff Lemire (completed)
Batman: The Knight by Chip Zdarsky (in process)
Gotham Nocturne: Overture by Ram V (in process)
This week’s track comes from a band that popped up randomly on a Spotify playlist that I was listening to this morning. Thank You I’m Sorry comes from Chicago, Illinois (although their Bandcamp page says Minneapolis) and started in 2018. The song comes from the album Growing in Strange Places which was released in September via Count Your Lucky Stars.
That’s it for this week. Have a great weekend and remember to BE MORE KIND!
