Another Month Already?!?
Issue #111: "Welcome to the MCU. You're joining at a bit of a low point."
Greetings nerds and nerdettes (and whoever else has accidentally fell into this pit of chaos)….
When we moved from Michigan into this house in Norman, Oklahoma we put everything in the garage and have slowly been moving stuff into the house. Well, that’s not entirely true. We moved all of the stuff that we needed right away into the house immediately and now we’re just moving stuff in at a very very slow process. One of the things that hasn’t gotten moved back into the house is this box of Murphy’s ashes. We haven’t moved them back in because I couldn’t find it. Well, over the weekend, I was moving some stuff in the garage around and noticed a box that I had not check yet. Low and behold there was the Murphy box!!!
By the way, if you don’t know, Murphy was our cat that we have for a really long time and he passed a couple of years ago. We had him cremated. He was the best boy. He has his own Facebook page.
Here are some new music releases from the week that caught my ear:
Drug Church - Prude
Wild Pink - Dulling the Horns
Stomatopod - DrizzleFizzle
Rat Boy - Suburbia Calling
Since we have come to the end of another month, here are my favorite music releases from the month of September.
City Mouse - So Far Out
The Jesus Lizard - Rack
Go Betty Go - Black & Blue
Berthold City - Where Did We Go Wrong?
Nada Surf - Moon Mirror
Winona Fighter - Swear To God I’m Fine
On the subject of September, my most listened to artist for that month, according to Last.fm is (and this comes as no surprise to me at all)……..Bad Religion.
Also, here are a list of some albums that have release anniversaries this month.
40 Year Anniversary
U2 - The Unforgettable Fire
Ramones - Too Tough to Die
The Replacements - Let It Be
30 Year Anniversary
The Cranberries - No Need to Argue
Danzig - Danzig 4
The Cult - The Cult

Melvins - Stoner Witch
Shellac - At Action Park
My comic book pull list this week had 3 books on it.
X-Men #5
Star Wars Inquisitors #4
Star Wars: The Battle of Jakku - Insurgency Rising #1
Other than a bunch of random single issues (a lot of the current Spider-Gwen run), the only trade paperback/collected edition that I bought was Moon Knight: The Midnight Mission by Jed MacKay
I did finally finish the audiobook for Star Wars: A New Dawn by John Jackson Miller. After I was done with that I started another Star Wars audiobook called Most Wanted by Rae Carson.
Wild Robot - I saw this one in the theater. It has been getting really good reviews but for some reason, it really didn’t resonate with me. I feel like it was a not as good version of WALL-E. I guess I can see the appeal for it though.
I also went to the theater with my youngest kid and saw Deadpool & Wolverine again. This is such a great movie.
I saw a couple of movies on streaming this week. There was Bastille Day/The Take and Sound of Freedom. Decent enough movies. Nothing to write home about though.
As far as TV shows went this week, other than re-watching Star Wars Rebels, I checked out a TV show on Max called Warrior. I wound up finishing the first season and started on the second. At some point in time I will finish this series. It’s pretty interesting. I thought so anyway.
The big news in sports this week has been the unfortunate death of baseball great Pete Rose. Yes, I said baseball great. He might have bet on baseball and he might have been banned from the sport and he may never make it to the hall of fame but he is still one of baseball’s great players despite all the politics surrounding him. He holds records for the most games played in the MLB (3,562), most career hits (4,256), most career singles (3,215). He was an All Star 17 times. He won the World Series 3 times. Despite how you feel about the man personally he is a baseball icon.
In other sporting news, as of this writing, Liverpool FC has climbed to the top of the EPL standings.
On this week’s episode of Rebel Rock Radio, we kicked off our Star Wars Rebels retrospective series and talked about season one. We also played tunes from The Happys, The Dogs, and Ex-Void.
I have been on a huge RVIVR kick lately. I mean, to be fair, I have also been listening to a lot of related bands such as Iron Chic, Tender Defender, Latterman, etc….. But, for this week’s track I leave you with a RVIVR tune from The Joester Sessions.
Also this week, I thought I’d get political and leave you with a political thought.
Have a great weekend and remember to BE MORE KIND!
LOL Nice job on the political thought lol...so true!
