Crayon-Fueled Apocalyptic Serenade
Issue #143: "The past doesn't go away. So you can either live with it for ever, or do something about it."
Hey kids! How’s it going? Welcome to another Monday. I almost forgot to do one of these for this week. It was a busy weekend and my work days on Sunday and Monday were quite long. I’m mentally exhausted. I don’t have much to talk about this week so mostly you’ll just see the new releases, what I’ve been reading and the podcast stuff. Pretty lame weekly newsletter. Sorry.
New Releases
Dublin Ireland based punk band M(h)aol released Something Soft via Merge Records [Bandcamp]
Dayton Ohio’s The Raging Nathans released Room For One More via Rad Girlfriend Records [Bandcamp]
Tonight Tonight was released on Rum Bar Records by Southern California punk band Foxy [Bandcamp]
Atlanta alternative rock band Dropsonic released a self-titled album on Spartan Records [Bandcamp]
If you haven’t already seen them, I’ve done some posts about the century so far in music. I’ve been listing my favorite album releases from 2000 on to 2024. So far, I’ve done 2000-2004, 2005-2009, and 2010-2014. I’m going to attempt to get the rest of those years finished up this week. No promises though.
I’m also posting a Bruce Springsteen song here because I stand with Bruce. If you know, you know.
The Pull List:
Daredevil #21
Absolute Batman #8
Batman and Robin #21

I Hate Fairyland Vol. 1: Madly Ever After by Skottie Young
I went to the theater and watched Thunderbolts* for a third time. However, I did not watch it for free using my AMC subscription. I actually went to the Cinemark in north Oklahoma City. That is the theater that I frequented when I lived in Edmond. I really liked that theater. We were up in the Edmond area on Saturday doing some shopping and I decided that I want to hit up that theater again because it had been a while.
On Rebel Nerd Radio, JD and I discussed Andor S2, Ep 7-9!
And on The Comic Den, Spencer and I dive into the candy colored carnage of I Hate Fairyland, Vol. 1: Madly Ever After!
Also in podcasts, my son Blue started a new one called I’m Gonna Teach You How to Live, where he talks about the TV sitcom How I Met Your Mother. On the first episode of this podcast, he discusses the pilot episode of the series.
That’s it for this week. See you again next time.
