Hello again readers! Welcome to another issue of The Otter Limits. I don’t really have much to say this week (again) but check out the new segment!
However, I would like to mention that a new NHL hockey season started today (October 7). There are a few teams that I follow so hopefully one of them will actually do well this season. I also live in a state where hockey is a little more of a thing than it was in Oklahoma so I’m also looking forward to hopefully checking out some games from the local teams (there are a few). I’m really hoping that I’ll be able to make a game down in Chicago or even in Detroit this season. When I was in Chicago for Riot Fest a few weeks ago, I took some pictures of the United Center (that’s where the Blackhawks play by the way). One is up at the top and here are a couple more.
After thinking about it for a while, I decided that I’m not going to try and post a top 5 list on here every week. In its place, since I tend to watch a lot of movies, I’m starting up a new segment of this newsletter, appropriately called Movie Stuff, where I talk about the movies that I have seen over the course of a particular week.
This week, I watched 3 movies, 2 of them in theaters.
The first is a Netflix released movie called Hustle. It stars Adam Sandler as an NBA talent scout that has discovered an unknown but very talented basketball player in Spain and works to get him into shape for the NBA. I am by no means an athlete. Outside of hockey and the occasional live baseball game, I don’t even watch sports. However, I do like a good sports movie. Ironic. Anyway, this was a decent movie and not your typical Adam Sandler movie.
The next one is a psychological thriller called Don’t Worry Darling. It stars Florence Pugh, Harry Styles, and Chris Pine. This is a weird one. It takes place in a 1950s picturesque town that seems too good to be true. And in fact, it is. It wasn’t completely awful but I felt like it took way too long to get to the point and then left me feeling like the movie was incomplete.
The other one that I saw in the theater was See How They Run. I’m not sure where I had heard about this movie but I was under the impression that it is a historical drama. It wasn’t. It was a who done it. Nothing more. To be honest, it was pretty boring. In fact, I considered getting up and leaving the theater about halfway through it. I just wasn’t interested in this movie at all.
Rogue One Radio
On this weeks episode, we had a chat about episode 4 of Andor. We broke down the locations and the characters and our overall impressions. We also played tunes from Action/Adventure, Celebration Summer, and Night Dangers. Check out the replay of the live stream here:

Radio Unfriendly
This past week saw the release (finally) of another episode of Radio Unfriendly, the music podcast that my friend Scott and I co-host. On this episode we talked about different music venues such as house shows, club shows and festivals. We also played a bunch of cool tunes. Catch out the podcast below:
Nothing in my pull list this week. Bummer.
I did finish The Rising Storm by Cavan Scott this week. You can check out my short little review on Goodreads here. After I was done with that, I took a tiny break from audio books but then started another High Republic book. I started Race to Crashpoint Tower by Daniel Jose Older. It’s supposed to be a younger reader’s companion to The Rising Storm.
This week’s track comes from a band that Scott and I played on Radio Unfriendly. This isn’t the song that we played on the show however. It is the track and follows the one we played on the show (which is called “Food for Thought” by the way). The album that both of these songs came from (Sleepville) is really good. You should check out the whole album. But for now, you can check this song out.
Enjoy your weekend and remember to BE MORE KIND!
