Let me guess. You like Star Wars?
nods
You know I’ve been in other movies?
nods
But you don’t care about those do you?

I have one thing to say to people like you…
I like Star Wars too!
This week, James Earl Jones celebrated his 93rd birthday. Happy Birthday to the voice of Darth Vader! May you live much longer sir! The above is a quote from his appearance on Big Bang Theory when Sheldon discovers him sitting alone at a restaurant.
I did another live stream of Rebel Rock Radio. This week, we got off subject quite a few times but eventually landed on the point of the episode, which was a preview of the Star Wars content coming out in 2024. As always, we played some tunes. This time by Lions of the Interstate, Blowfuse, and Twist & Writhe. Check out the replay of the live stream on YouTube below:
If you would prefer to just listen to the audio version, you can find it the various platforms by going to rebelrockradio.com.
Justin and Dylan dropped another episode of Punk Lotto Pod. This episode, they discussed the 1982 album ‘Wasn’t Tomorrow Wonderful?’ by Akron based new wave band The Waitresses. Check it out on Spotify:
Monday night I went to the game store and played another session of the Star Trek RPG. It’s a really fun game. We are playing in The Next Generation era. I’ll definitely be returning. Other than that, I have not done any other gaming (TTRPG or video games) this week.
Last weekend I went to my first concert of 2024. I saw the Smoking Popes. I have seen these guys probably 5 times now. They are one of my favorite bands and always put on a good show. Friday evening was no different. The opening band was The Dreaded Laramie and they were pretty amazing as well. There was another band that played first. I think they might have been a local band but I had never heard of them and for the life of me I can’t remember their name. They were solid and capable.
I did a couple of those top 5 albums of [insert band name] here this week.
I did one for Green Day.

And another one for The Offspring. That one was difficult to do. Admittedly, I am not a fan of this band. I like a song of theirs here or there but trying to come up with a list of my top 5 full albums of theirs? Hoo boy! For some reason, I can’t get the TikTok post to embed here so I’ll just post the link:

The Beekeeper - This was an action movie starring Jason Statham. Good popcorn movie.
Echo - New MCU TV show about the character that appeared in the 2021 show Hawkeye. It wasn’t my favorite MCU show but it wasn’t my least favorite either. I think the creators of this show missed the marks on many levels.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians - I’ve watched a few episodes of this one. So far I guess it’s okay but probably not something I’ll finish.
Step Brothers - I watched this movie for the first time last night (Thursday). I could have gone longer without having watched it. I don’t get the hype. This movie was kind of dumb. I mean, I like dumb movies sometimes but this one did nothing for me.
I also continued my watch through of Star Trek Voyager. I’m somewhere toward the beginning of Season 2.
Nothing on my comic book pull list again this week. However, I did do some reading this week.
As far as comic books go, I’ve been doing some Spider-Man reading. A couple of new Spider-Man titles have been released recently so I’m starting those. Plus, I’m starting a read through the “current” run of Amazing Spider-Man. So here is what I’ve read this week:
Ultimate Spider-Man #1 by Johnathan Hickman
Superior Spider-Man Returns by Dan Slott
Amazing Spider-Man Vol 1: World Without Love by Zeb Wells
Amazing Spider-Man Vol 2: The New Sinister by Zeb Wells
That is on top of some of the single issues of other titles that I’ve read.
I also started an audiobook called Girls to the Front: The True Story of the Riot Grrrl Movement by Sara Marcus.
I didn’t try anything new and we really didn’t eat out much at all this week. I do need to ask though. Did Little Ceasar’s change their dough? Being up front about this, I don’t like Little Ceasar’s. Mostly because of their dough. I think their dough/crust is gross. The one exception is their Detroit style. However, I don’t order that from the Little Ceasar’s near us because they NEVER cook it long enough. Also, I do actually like their Crazy Bread. But their pizza. Nope. Crust is gross. However, we ordered a pizza from their earlier this week. Something about the crust was different. It was actually edible and didn’t taste like cardboard. So I’m just wondering whether or not they changed the dough. Anybody?
This week’s tune comes from an album that I discovered last Friday after I had already written last week’s newsletter. It comes from an album that was just released that Friday. It is the title track to the new Fabled Mind album. Enjoy!
That’s it for this week boys and girls. See you next week. Have a great weekend and remember to BE MORE KIND!
