Issue #42: This is the way
Hello again readers!
I don’t have much to talk about this week but I figured I’d put out an issue anyway.
As I mentioned in last week's newsletter, I did get all of my books to fit on my new bookshelf. However, I still get the feeling that there are more out there in the garage that I haven't discovered yet so whether or not all of my books will still fit on the bookshelf once I've found them all remains to be seen. I still haven't gotten any posters put up but I think that is another thing that I might have out there in the garage. I seem to remember a few posters that I had before I move but I can't remember if I got rid of them or they are just hiding out there somewhere. Time will tell I guess.
I really don’t have a lot going on this week that is of any interest. I continued to play some Halo but I actually switched from Combat Evolved to Reach. But then, earlier this week, the new season began on Fallout 76 so I got the update installed and then started playing that so I’ll probably on Fallout again for a while.
Here’s a picture of Andor sleeping on the love seat in my office.

This week’s episode sees the return of the television that launched the podcast in the first place back in 2019. That’s right! The Mandalorian is back! We discussed various things about the season 3 premiere. We talked about our overall thoughts of the show, our theories on how the rest of the season will play out, and who we think this season’s main antagonist is going to be. This week’s tunes came from Hi Ho, The Speakeasy, and Debt Cemetary. You can check out a replay of the video on YouTube below or check out the audio by going to our biolink page here for the various options.
Also on the show, we revealed that our logo recently had a makeover. The logo has been orange for so long, we felt like it was time for a paint job.
Dave recorded an episode of his One Band 5 Songs this week and talked about the American Recordings era of Johnny Cash. Good episode. Go check it out on Spotify below.
I watched Quantumania again earlier this week but that’s the only thing I’ve seen in the theater. Strangely, I’m starting to feel like I won’t be watching nearly as many movies in the theater as I was when I was in Michigan. Probably because there is a lot more to do here. Hard to believe really.
Recently, I re-watched the MCU Spider-Man trilogy and I re-watched X2 (I watched the 2nd one because I couldn’t find the first one on any of my streaming services). But other than those, I really haven’t been watching anything else.
I have been doing a lot of comic book re-reads this week. First was Grant Morrison’s Arkham Asylum graphic novel. After that, I started a re-read of the 2001 Ultimate X-Men series by Mark Millar but stopped after finishing Vol 1 (The Tomorrow People). After I was done with that, I decided to start a re-read of the mid-90s X-Men Age of Apocalypse series. This is one my favorite X-Men story arcs of all time and, in fact, might be one of my favorite comic book story arcs of all time period. So far, of this series I have read X-Men Alpha and X-Men Chronicles and have started reading the Astonishing X-Men.
This week’s new comics for me included:
Star Wars #32
I didn’t get any other new comics this week because I haven’t made it to the comic book shop this week yet.
This week’s track comes from a band that I had never heard of until today (Friday). It popped up on my release radar on Spotify this morning. Check it out below on Spotify.
That’s it for this week kids. Have a good weekend and remember...don’t be a dick.
