Hello there faithful readers!
Well, the re-relocation back to Oklahoma that I mentioned in a previous issue is creeping up on me pretty quick. In fact, this marks my last full week in Michigan as we will be leaving Michigan next Friday. Friday the 13th. Ugh. Bad omen? I hope not. Anyway, as mentioned in the previous issue, we are returning to Oklahoma and will be moving to Norman, Oklahoma. It’s bittersweet. I will NOT miss the cold weather up here in Michigan but I will miss some of the connections I’ve made up here. I will miss being this close to Chicago. I will also miss some of the amazing pizza that I’ve had up in this area. In the long run, I think the move back will be better for all of us.
Just an FYI. It is unlikely that I will publish an issue next week because we will be busy packing and moving and all that good fun stuff that comes with relocating.
Babylon - I went and saw this one with my son-in-law. While it wasn’t the worst movie I have ever seen, it will certainly not be hitting any best of lists. To be honest, it was unnecessarily long and, just, kind of weird. I wouldn’t watch it again and if I’m being real, I would not recommend it to anyone.
Puss in Boots: The Last Wish - My youngest offspring, my son-in-law and I got a wild hair to go see this movie for some reason. It actually wasn’t bad. It was fun. It was certainly better than Babylon.
Strange World - I’m not sure what compelled to go watch this one. I saw it with my youngest offspring. I think we were just bored and wanted to go see a movie and it was the only thing that looked mildly interesting that we had not already seen. It wasn’t bad.
Dio: Dreamers Never Die - This is a documentary about the heavy metal singer that came out last year. Some cool interviews and stories from people that were close to him. I’m a fan of his and it was recommended to me by someone on social media. I had to sign up for a free trial of Showtime to watch it though. Definitly worth it. I enjoyed it. It is hard to believe that it has been over 12 years since RJD left this world. #RIPDio.
The only comic that hit my pull list this week was Star Wars #30.
I have been trying to get caught up on my comic book reading though. I came across this new Spider-Man limited series and it jumped out to me because Dan Slott is writing it (Dan Slott being one of the best writers of the character in the last couple of decades) and I had to see what he was doing so I read the first issue. I will definitely be catching the rest of this series. I wrote a review of this comic for The Future of the Force.
Some friends of mine released a new EP today (Friday, January 6). The band is called The Killings and the EP is called Road to Nowhere. It isn’t on the big platforms yet. Right now it is only on Bandcamp so you can check it out over there.
