Old, Fat, Broke and Ugly
Issue #166: "Magneto is going to be furious he wasn't here."
Hey kids. Yeah, I’m doing this on Monday for some reason.
I don’t really have a lot of updates as far as life itself is concerned. Still broke. Still unemployed. I did, however, just receive notification that I am 100% complete with my cybersecurity program. And by “notification” I mean I looked at the dashboard and saw that it said 100% complete. Looking back, I would not recommend the program that I went through. If you are interested in a cybersecurity program, go somewhere else. I’m not going to list the name of the program here though. If you are seriously that interested, message me and I’ll let you know who they are and why I would not recommend them. In any case, I’m not sure what the next step in the process is. I am supposed to get a certificate of completion for the course and I’m supposed to get a voucher to pay for my certification exam. Until I get all that, I will just keep studying for the cert exam like I have been.
As I’ve said before, this update is mostly random stuff that I’ve posted on social media throughout the week. You can find me on Facebook, Threads, and Instagram.
Here’s some stuff that I wrote over the course of the week if you care about that sort of thing:
My comic book reading continues. I’m up to 139 comic books read so far this year.
First off, here were my comic book pulls from the past week. There were more than usual.
Absolute Batman #17 by Scott Snyder and Eric Canete
Dungeons of Doom #2 by Benjamin Percy, Phillip Kennedy Johnson, George Jeanty, Carlos Magno, Justin Mason, and Robert Gill.
White Sky #1 by William Harms and Jean Paul Mavinga
Uncanny X-Men #24 by Gail Simone and David Marquez
X-Men #25 Jed MacKay and Tony S. Daniel
As far as other comic book reading goes, I’m caught on the current Avengers run (Jed MacKay) and the current Captain America Run (Chip Zdarsky). I’ve been working on getting caught up on the Ultimates (Deniz Camp). I’m getting there. I also started reading Vol. 4 of What's the Furthest Place from Here? (Matthew Rosenberg) I just started that one last night.
In the world of podcasting, I haven’t been as busy as I was the week previously.
First, there was a regular episode of Rebel Nerd Radio on which JD and I talked about the classic 1980 science fiction film Flash Gordon.
In last week’s newsletter, I told you that Spencer and I relaunched our Comic Den series.
On our first episode back, we had a discussion about Marvel Comic’s Blood Hunt event.
And then yesterday, we went live and talked about all of the news that came out of the Comics Pro industry convention (and a bunch more comic book related news).
And here’s what I’ve been listening to this week. It’s my top 10 most listened to artists over the past week, according to my Lastfm account.
Well, that’s it for this time around. Sorry I wasn’t more entertaining with this one. It’s just been one of those weeks. I’m really surprised that I even bothered to do this thing.
If you like the stuff that I do, please consider to support me financially by donating whatever you can on my Kofi. It goes to buy me coffee and comic books.
