How’s your Monday going readers?
I really have nothing interesting to talk about this week. Not a whole lot has been going on that I feel like mentioning here. No road trips this week. No birthday stuff to talk about. Yeah, this week is going to be really basic.
The only new album that was released last week that was of any interest to me was Universe Room, the new Guided By Voices album.
In last week’s edition of Radio Unfriendly’s Cover to Cover I talked about the song “Head On.”
According to Last.fm, here were my top 5 most listened to artists from last week:
On last week’s comic book pull list, there were 3 titles.
Batman #157
Absolute Superman #4
Legacy of Vader #1
Here is some of the other stuff that I read last week:
Green Lantern: Emerald Twilight by Ron Marz
Green Lantern Vol. 6: Secret Origin by Geoff Johns
Green Lantern: Rebirth by Geoff Johns
Miles Morales Spider-Man Vol. 1: Straight Out Of Brooklyn by Saladin Ahmed
As you can see, I am still reading a lot of Green Lantern stuff. I still have a bunch of other GL stuff in my to read stack so you’ll probably see more next week too.
I also read a couple of short books about Buddhism just for the hell of it.
My son-in-law and I went to the theater last week and caught the action film Love Hurts. I liked it. Fun popcorn action film.
The new Star Trek film Section 31 came out late last week and I finally got around to watching it last week. It was not a theatrical release. It was a Paramount Plus exclusive. I liked it. A friend of mine told me that it was not getting good reviews. Not my problem.
For my birthday I got an Xbox gift card. Most of the stuff that I play on my Xbox is on Game Pass however, the Cyberpunk DLC Phantom Liberty is not on Game Pass so I bought it. Interestingly enough, since I have owned my Xbox (late 2021/early 2022) I have only purchased 2 games and one of them was Cyberpunk. So I started a new play through of Cyberpunk because I haven’t played it in a while. Cyberpunk is what I have been playing the most of lately.
I’m still playing Spider-Man 2 off and on as well on my Playstation. I have finished the main story but I have not completed 100% of everything else.
I thought I’d do another sports update on the top of the month for anybody that actually cares.
The Chicago Blackhawks are still not doing well. Dead last in the standings. The Dallas Stars, however, aren’t doing bad. They are in 2nd place in the western conference (as of this writing).
In the English Premier League, Liverpool FC is still in first place. They are 6 points ahead of the 2nd place team (Arsenal).
I’m not a basketball fan but apparently the team from here in the Oklahoma City area (Thunder) are doing really well. They are currently in 1st place in the Western Conference. If I were a fan of the sport, it is very likely that I would not be a fan of the Thunder. I would probably cheer for the Bulls, who, by the way, are not doing that well. They aren’t in last place but they are nowhere near 1st.
I guess the biggest news in sports was that the Super Bowl happened. I didn’t watch it. I don’t really care. I was a little disappointed that I missed this years Kitten Bowl. There was a cool new trailer for the movie Thunderbolts* that they showed during the Super Bowl but I saw that after the fact on YouTube. It was the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles. I think the Eagles won.
Last week on Rebel Rock Radio, we celebrated our 200th episode! We had a slew of guests on with us to share their favorite moments from Rebel Rock Radio and Star Wars!
I also joined another episode of Comic Den on Sunday and talked about the current run of Green Lantern with Spencer.
This week, I came across a new single by a band called Roxy Mayhem that I giggled out and got great joy out of. It was released last month. I hope you get great joy out of it too.
Well that’s it for this week. Hopefully, I will be more interesting next week.
