Welcome back readers! And for those of you that are new here, welcome to the madness that is The Otter Limits. I talk about a bunch of random stuff here but mostly music, Star Wars, books, and kitty kats. Well, I actually don’t talk about cats here. I just post pictures of mine. We have 5 cats. Leia (yes, named after the Star Wars character), Maximus (Max), Earl, Poppy, and Andor (yes, again, named after the Star Wars character). Poppy and Andor are the two kittens in the picture above. So there, I talked about kitty kats.
Anyway, I really don’t have much to say this week so I’ll let the rest of my more organized sections of this newsletter do my talking for me.
This week, I decided to do a list of my favorite Star Wars novels. Listed in chronological order by date of release, here are my top 5 favorite Star Wars novels:
Lost Stars by Claudia Gray (2015)
Bloodline by Claudia Gray (2016)
Catalyst by James Luceno (2016)
Rebel Rising by Beth Revis (2017)
Rogue One Radio
On this week’s episode of Rogue One Radio, we talked about the premiere episodes of the Disney+ series Andor. We were joined in this discussion by Andrew of the podcasts The Science Fictionary and Coruscant Radio Underground. We also played tunes from The Raging Nathans, Sic Waiting, and Eaten Back to Life.
You can check out the replay of the live stream on YouTube here:
Or, if you are a fan of the audio podcast format, you can listen to it here on Apple (please rate and review):
Short pull this week but at least there was one. This week’s pull list consisted of Doctor Aphra #24 and Han Solo & Chewbacca #6.
I have actually been doing a lot of reading this week. Well, technically, I have been doing a lot of listening to audio books. This week, I finished the book Thrawn: Treason that I mentioned that I had started in last week's issue. Also, after wanting to read the trade for lord know’s how long, I started and finished Vol 1 of Something Is Killing the Children by James Tynion IV.
I decided to work toward getting caught up on the Star Wars High Republic series (which I am abysmally behind on) so I read the book Into the Dark by Claudia Gray and started The Rising Storm by Cavan Scott.
I’ve been listening to a lot of Bad Religion this week. I get in these phases where I spend weeks on end listening to this band. It was really cool getting to see them again a couple of weeks ago at Riot Fest. This one comes from my Last.fm report. According to them, this is the song that I have listened to the most this week.
