Hello readers!
Here are a couple of the boys (Earl and Andor).
I didn’t write anything last week because I went on a short weekend trip so this week I’ll be playing a lot of catch up on this newsletter.
The wife, youngest child and I took a trip to Chicago this past weekend. We went up there to see my grandkids. They live in Michigan and met us there. I love Chicago. I always love my trips there. We did some cool stuff that I don’t normally do while I’m there because we were there for the grandkids and were doing “kid” stuff. For instance, we went to this huge gaming place (arcade games, go-karts, laser tag, etc..) called Scene 75. We also went to the Chicago Children’s Museum. We also went to my favorite pizza place in Chicago, Pizzeria Ora.
I’m sure that I’ve said it before but Chicago is my favorite city in the world. Granted, there are a lot of places that I haven’t been like London or Dublin or Tokyo but I have travelled the world. I dunno, it’s just something about Chicago that I really love. I can’t put my finger on it.
Last week, I did a not so scheduled episode of Rogue One Radio with Pete from the Around the Galaxy podcast. In observance with the 15th anniversary of the premiere of the Clone Wars TV show, we talked about the legacy of that show. I didn’t play any music on this episode. It was a shorter one than usual too. It was a lot of fun though. You can check the replay of the YouTube video below or listen to on our audio platforms at our bio link.
I didn’t do an episode this week. I hadn’t gotten around to planning an episode so I figured I’d take a week off.
I don’t really have much this week. I would like to mention, however, that the new Menzingers album, Some Of It Was True, dropped today via Epitaph Records.
I don’t think I mentioned this previously but I stopped working at the game store. I still go out there and hang out from time to time but, as much as I liked having the extra money, I didn’t have the energy for a second job. I did really enjoy my time there. In any case, I did go to the store this past Monday to play some Pirate Borg. I have to say that this game is one of my favorites. If you’ve never played it and you like table top RPGs, I recommend it. We had a pretty nice sized group this week. Bigger than we’ve had for this game before. See that? I keep saying “we" like I’m still part of the shop. LOL! Anyway, it’s fun. That is actually the only TTRPG I played this week.
My week of gaming consisted mostly of working on Jedi Survivor. I finally finished that game. It’s good. It is making me look forward (even more than I already was) to that upcoming open world Star Wars video game. If you haven’t heard of it yet, it is called Outlaws and is scheduled to be released sometime next year.
Lately, I’ve been on a huge Saw kick. I saw the new one, Saw X, in the theaters twice already and then went back and started watching some of the movies that I hadn’t already seen. As it turns out, before watching X, I had only seen the first 3 movies. As of this writing, I am almost completely caught up. The only one I have left to watch is the spin-off movie Spiral. My favorites of the series have to be X, Saw (2004), Jigsaw (2017), and Saw II (2005). As far as horror movies go, I think this is my favorite franchise. I feel like these movies are done so well and the John Kramer character is extremely compelling. On top of that, all of the twists and turns throughout the series, who people turn out to be, etc……makes for some good stories.
I haven’t watched any other movies this week.
I finished reading the Darth Vader book in my recently subscribed to Star Wars Encyclopedia set. I also read the Millennium Falcon book of that series. I have recevied more books in the series but haven’t gotten started on them yet.
I also started listening to the audio book of Path of Deceit by Tessa Gratton and Justina Ireland. It is part of the High Republic continuity of Star Wars.
Just one comic on my pull list this week. It was Dark Droids #3.
Canada’s The Flatliners put out a new single this week.
That’s it for this week. Have a good weekend and remember to BE MORE KIND!
