What’s up readers! Another week has gone by. And another month! We are in July already. Crazy huh?
I don’t really have anything for this little intro blurb this week.
And so it begins….
On Tuesday, JD got called into work because of high winds so on Rebel Rock Radio I was joined by my original Rogue One Radio co-host Charlie Kirby and also Tina to talk about the 5th episode of The Acolyte. Tunes from this episode came from Reckoner, Cross Dog, and Scrunchies.
I recorded some stuff with a friend of mine but it won’t be released out in the podosphere until next week so I’ll talk about that on here next week.
I also have a new episode of Radio Unfriendly’s Pure Rank coming out soon so be sure to keep your eye out for that.
New Music Friday!
This week there wasn’t a whole lot that really jumped out at me in regards to new releases but here is what I did find:
Bacchae - Next Time
The Dreaded Laramie - Princess Feedback
And since another month has come and gone, here is a list of what I think were the best albums to come out in June:
Tiny Stills - We Really Felt Something
Hotlung - In Spite Of
Fu Manchu - The Return of Tomorrow
Me First and the Gimme Gimmes - Blow It at Madison’s Quinceanera
MakeWar - A Paradoxical Theory of Change
Boids - Boids
Virginity - Bad Jazz
This week’s comic book pull list was pretty small and consisted of:
Life of Wolverine #1
Star Wars Inquisitors #1
I also read the comic book Darth Vader: Black, White & Red and started reading The High Republic comic book series Shadows of Starlight
I finally got around to reading and finishing the book Star Wars: Dawn of the Rebellion: The Visual Guide.
I’m still reading Star Wars: The Living Force. I am really close to being done with it though.
Monday I played another session of the Star Wars RPG at DM Daves. I did not GM another session of D&D on Wednesday for reasons. I’ll be back at it next week though. Other than that, as far as gaming goes, I’m just played Fallout 76. No big surprise there.
I have probably said this before but I am here to reiterate that tacos from taco trucks are superior to any tacos that you could get anywhere else. We have quite a few of them in our area and they are always in the same spot. Here is the most recent one we tried out. I wouldn’t say it is our favorite (in fact I’m pretty sure that my wife did not like it) but I thought it was still good.
Do you have taco trucks in your area? If not, what fast food tacos do you have? Where we live we have the following:
Taco Bell. Their beef has gone way downhill in the last decade or so. I’m not even sure it is real beef. To eat from here, if I get something with beef on it, I have to get one with sour cream.
Del Taco. I don’t really go to this one very often. The beef is higher quality than Taco Bell but still isn’t the greatest. I mean, at the very least I think the beef is actual beef. The thing about Del Taco is that they try to do too much. For instance, a taco place with french fries and burgers? Why?
Taco Bueno. I think the beef here is also real beef. Or maybe they cover it up to make it taste like real beef. They seem to be the more expensive of the fast food tacos places which is why I don’t really frequent it.
Taco Casa. This is, I think, the best fast food taco place that we have in our area. It is regional so I really doubt that they have them where you are at unless you live near me. The company is based out of Texas I believe. Anyway, I like it. And they give you a lot on your taco. Especially the cheese. And I’m very certain that the beef on their tacos is actual beef. The only downside to this place (or maybe it’s not a downside at all) is that they don’t have a lot of variety. For instance, you can’t get a chicken burrito or a steak burrito. It is all beef or nothing.
We also have Jack in the Box which serves tacos but I wouldn’t really consider this a taco place. And you REALLY have to be in the mood to eat these tacos.
Those are the only ones I can think of. At least in my area.
Here are the movies that I saw in the theater this week.
Bikeriders - I saw this one with my wife. I think she liked it more than I did. I found it kind of boring. The acting in it was pretty good though. I’ll give it that.
A Quiet Place: Day One - This is one that I meant to see as soon as it came out but I didn’t get around to it. I liked the first two and when I saw the trailer for this one I knew that I would want to see it. I liked it but I don’t think I like it as much as I did the 2nd one. It was good. Don’t get me wrong. There were some things I think I was hoping to see in it that I did not. I won’t get into it here because I don’t want to spoil anything for anybody that reads this and wants to see it. If you are interested in knowing about it, just message me.
And to finish things off for the week…….
This week’s track of the week came from an album that came out last week but I didn’t find out about it until this week. It’s comes from Arizona Law’s album Have You Tried Not Being Sad?
That’s it for this week. Have a good weekend kids.
