Greeting and salutations readers! Another Monday is upon us.
Well, I got through my first week of working 10 hour shifts. Those are some long days. I’m hoping I will get used to them. On the job front, I had an interview with another company on Tuesday. They will be doing another round of interviews but I’m not sure if I will be moving on to the second round. They told me that I should know something by today…hopefully. On that note, why are so many companies doing the multiple rounds of interviews paradigm these days? It is kind of annoying. Especially for jobs that aren’t executive level. I feel like if you don’t know whether or not you want to hire somebody after one meeting with them, they aren’t the one.
If you weren’t aware, Saturday was Free Comic Book Day. One of the best holidays for nerds. I went to my local comic book shop (Speeding Bullet Comics) and participated of course. The free comic books that I picked up while there are down in the reading section of this newsletter. And if that nerd holiday wasn’t enough, yesterday was May the 4th aka Star Wars Day. If you didn’t know that I was a Star Wars nerd, you have not been reading this newsletter close enough. LOL. I love Star Wars. It’s been a big part of my life ever since I was a wee one back when Empire Strikes Back was released in theaters. Anyway, cool nerdy weekend.
Also, I like gyros.
Also, don’t forget that May is mental health awareness month. Your mind matters and you are not alone.

Other Reads:
This week has not been a strong reading week for me. I read a little bit of that Star Wars book (Mask of Fear) that I’ve been reading but that is about it.
Oh yeah! I also read issue #1 of the current Amazing Spider-Man series by Joe Kelly.
I went to the theater on Thursday and watched the new MCU film Thunderbolts*. It was a good movie. It was fun. I wouldn’t say it’s my favorite MCU film but it is definitely worth watching again.
Outside of the theater, I watched the movie Kingsman: The Golden Circle, the 2017 sequel to Kingsman: The Secret Service. I also watched the 2021 prequel The King’s Man. I watched that first one some time ago and never got around to watching either of the other ones. Mostly because they weren’t free on any of the streaming services until recently. I like this series. I know that they are based on a comic book series that I’ve never read. I should check it out sometime.
Rebel Nerd Radio came back from our one week break with a vengeance.
First, on our regularly scheduled livestream on Tuesday, we covered the first 3 episodes of the 2nd season of the Disney Plus Star Wars series Andor.
And if that wasn’t enough Rebel Nerd Radio for the week, we did a bonus live episode on Wednesday with Darth Mari. Mari and JD shared their experience from Star Wars Celebration Japan. I mostly sat and listened and flipped them off because I wasn’t there with them. LOL!
Over at The Comic Den on Sunday, Spencer and I celebrated May the 4th with a discussion about the mid-90s Star Wars comic book story Dark Lords of the Sith.
