Hey readers. Today turned into a rough one. It started out well enough. However, over the course the morning I learned that Kevin Conroy had passed away. Kevin Conroy, if you don’t know, was the voice of Batman in Batman: The Animated Series, as well as 3 of the 4 main Arkham video games (Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, and Arkham Knight. He also played the role of Bruce Wayne himself in Arrowverse’s Crisis on Infinite Earths. To say that this man WAS Batman/Bruce Wayne is not an understatement. He has been this character for many since the early 90s. His impact on the character will forever be remembered and his death is a huge loss to the comics community. RIP Kevin.
I’ve been listening to a lot of music this week. The end of the year is creeping up on us and it’s time to start putting together that end of year favorite albums list. With that in mind, I’ve been going through the list of this year’s albums that I have compiled over the course of 2022 to figure out who is going to make my list. This year’s list will be longer than lists I have previously done over the years because there was a lot of good stuff put out this year. Not only that but there is a really good chunk of stuff that was put out by bands I had never heard of before. Keep your eye out for those lists toward the end of December.
Oh yeah, I’ll be going down to Chicago again next weekend with a friend of mine to catch a show at the Cobra Lounge. Hopefully, I will remember to post pictures of that one or anything else of interest that happens in Chicago while we are there.
Another thing I wanted to mention was regarding the recent elections. I don’t talk politics on here much. In fact, I tend to actively avoid it. Without going back to every issue I’ve done, I can’t actually remember a time when I did say anything about politics. What I do have to say about the election is not a partisan issue so rest assured I’m not going to use this forum to get into the left vs right paradigm. I want to mention something that is one of my biggest pet peeves when it comes to voting: the option for straight party voting. I absolutely despise this option on the ballot and I think every state should remove it from their ballots. As an example in the below tweet, In Oklahoma, “nearly HALF A MILLION…” chose this option. This sort of thing encourages voter ignorance and promotes lazy voting. If you can’t be bothered to research the candidates to find out who you think the best person is to represent you, don’t bother going to the polls at all. According to a reply to this tweet, there are currently only 6 states with this option: Alabama, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Oklahoma, and South Carolina. So that’s a good sign that most of the country agrees with me. That’s it. That is all I had to say about that topic. Thank you for coming to my Steve Talk.

This is random. I came across this image in my Facebook memories a few days ago. It is a picture of the final performance of the original lineup of Get Fired in Oklahoma City. Following that is a picture of Andor that my wife took while he was lurking around her desk.
Creed (2015) - I don’t know why it has taken me 7 years to finally check out this movie. Especially considering I have been wanting to watch it for a long time. I really have no excuse as to why I’m just now getting around to viewing this one. Anyway, I’m glad I finally did. I enjoyed it. Based on this one, I feel like this franchise was a good way to spin off of the Rocky franchise.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever - I saw an early release of this one with the youngest offspring on Thursday evening. I’m not going to say a whole lot about the movie itself other than I liked it. It was emotional at times. MCU fan or not, worth at least one viewing.

There was nothing in my comics pull list this week so that was pretty lame. I haven’t really been going a whole heck of a lot of reading lately. I’m also not done with my re-read of the Ahsoka audio book.
I don’t remember where or how I came across the EP that this week’s track comes from. It comes from the Scranton, PA-based band Tigers Jaw. It is the title track from their newly released EP Old Clothes. Enjoy.
Enjoy your weekend and remember to BE MORE KIND!
