Hello again Monday readers (and other days of course).
It seems like a lot of comic creators have been passing lately. It feels that way anyway. But this most recent one hit kind of hard. Peter David left this world a couple of days ago, on May 24th.
Legendary Comic Creator Peter David Dies at 68
Mr. David got his start in comics in the mid-80s. He is known for his runs on Aquaman, Spider-Man 2099 (and other Spider-Man titles), Captain Marvel, X-Factor, and many other titles. But I know him most, as do many comic book fans, as the writer of The Incredible Hulk. Peter had a 12 year run of the green gamma giant.
Peter David’s legacy in comics is secure and he will be forever remembered. We will miss him. Rest well Mr. David.

Although this is the last issue of this newsletter that will be put out in the month of May, I’m going to wait until the next issue to go over my favorite releases for the month. I will, however, provide you with the artists that I’ve been listening to the most over the month (according to Last.fm). Here’s the top 10:
The Pull List:
Absolute Flash #3
Detective Comics #1097
The Amazing Spider-Man #4
Superman Unlimited #1
Outside of this, I really haven’t been doing much reading at all. It’s been a non-reading week. Actually, I feel like I haven’t been very productive at all this week. Was I doing something else?
Shrugs.
My only theater trip of the week was on Friday when I saw Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning.
Outside of the cinema, I’ve been rewatching a lot of MCU stuff lately. No particular reason other than having just watching Thunderbolts* in the theater several times and getting the urge. So far, I’ve rewatched Black Widow, Doctor Strange, Infinity War, and Endgame.
Additionally, speaking of the MCU, I started watching the TV show Agent Carter. I had never watched it before. Not really sure why. Oh, and if you are wondering, “what happened to your Walking Dead rewatch?”….yeah, that didn’t last very long. As for Agent Carter, I made it through the first season. I’m sure that I will start the next season soon but there is another TV show I’ve been thinking of checking out. If I wind up watching some of that I’ll let you know.
We didn’t do a Rebel Nerd Radio live stream last week because the weather was bad in Kansas and caused a lot of damage so JD had to work some brutal hours fixing stuff.
I did, however, join Spencer on The Comic Den to talk about the new Dan Slott written Superman Unlimited.
Well, that’s it for this week kids. I don’t have a Substack shout for this week but I will mention that Dave has been doing this cool series over at Oklahoma Lefty about some of the great Superman stories so go check those out. Here’s his latest:
Anyway, that’s all I got. See you next week!
