Welcome back readers! Thanks for coming back and for anybody new to this newsletter….wait! Don’t leave!!!
So…the Fallout TV show (which I have been anxiously awaiting since I first heard about it) finally came out on Prime. I think I’ve known about it for about a year. Seems like it anyway. If you have not seen it, I cannot recommend it enough. Even if you’ve never played any of the games.
On that subject, let me talk about my Fallout history briefly. Back in 1997, I was over at a friend’s house. I was living in Alaska at the time (that isn’t relevant). He told me about this game that was just released and had me jump on the computer to play it. It was the original Fallout. What a great concept. Even back then, I was a fan of the post apocalyptic genre. Great game. Fast forward several years later, I had not played any other Fallout games. I received Fallout 4 as a Xmas gift. That was it. It is all history from there. I was hooked. I went back and played them all. Fallout 2 is the exception, I’ve never played it. To this day, Fallout 4 is my favorite installment of the game. I remember how excited I was to hear about the release of Fallout 76. But I also remember when it finally came out and how disappointed I was initially. It certainly got better over the years but it still does not hold a candle to Fallout 4. If I were to rank the games according to preference this is how it would look (no Fallout 2 of course):
Fallout 4
Fallout 3
Fallout 76
Fallout New Vegas (the story itself is superior to 76 but the gameplay on 76 edges this one out for me)
Fallout (1997)
On another note, Superman recently celebrated his 86th birthday. That is, the 1st issue of Action Comics (which contained the first appearance of the superhero) was published 86 years ago on April 18th (although the cover says June). So happy birthday Superman!

MUSIC STUFF
Get Fired has a show tonight in Norman. It is our first all ages show in a couple of years. I’m looking forward to it.
Here are my most listened to artists for the week:
READING STUFF
There was only one comic book on my pull list this week. It was Fall of the House of X #4.
I’m still reading Book 3 of the New X-Men by Grant Morrison. I also re-read Superman Vol 1: Supercorp last night.
GAMING STUFF
Nothing new going on here. No Monday session of the Star Wars RPG happened and I’ve just been playing Fallout 76. I did start up a new character on that game because it has been a long time since I have ran through the story and wanted to do that again.
SPORTS STUFF
As of this writing, Liverpool FC has dropped to being tied for #2 in the EPL standings with Arsenal while Manchester City elevated to the #1 spot. How does this happen do you ask? Well, on the 7th their match against Manchester United ended in a draw and they LOST to Crystal Palace on the 14th! LOST! To a team that is near the bottom of the table for Pete’s sake! C’mon Liverpool! They did this while Manchester City has won their last 3 regular season matches. Liverpool has their next regular season match on Sunday the 21st against Fulham, a team that is currently in 12th place on the tables. They really need a win here if they have any chance to getting back on top. There are only 8 regular matches left in the season (I think).
In Major League Baseball, also as of this writing, the White Sox are still in last place. Ugh. The have won 3 games this season. They currently have the worst record in the league. I know it’s still early in the season but damn. Just sad.
Also, I started watching AEW again. I’ve been watching it on my computer. I won’t say how. I have mostly just been watching Dynamite and checking the results of the matches on the other shows (Rampage and Collision). They have a PPV (Dynasty) coming up this weekend in St. Louis that I might try to watch. Here is the list of the matches scheduled for that PPV:
The Acclaimed and Billy Bunn vs Bullet Club Gold (AEW Trios and ROH 6-Man tag championship match)
Adam Copeland, Eddie Kingston, and Mark Briscoe vs The House of Black
Hook vs Chris Jericho
Roderick Strong vs Kyle O’Reilly (International championship match)
Julia Hart vs Willow Nightingale (TBS championship match)
Okada vs Pac (Continental championship match)
The Young Bucks vs FTR (tag team championship match)
Toni Storm vs Thunder Rosa (women’s championship match)
Will Ospreay vs Bryan Danielson
Samoa Joe vs Swerve Strickland (World championship match)
Pretty stacked card. Might be a good one.
STUFF I WATCHED
A Boy and His Dog - I caught this one on Roku TV. I had recently been reading about the guy that created the first Fallout game and he said that part of his inspiration for it came from this movie so I wanted to check it out. I can certainly see the inspiration.
Civil War - I enjoyed it. It was tense.
Freelance - My wife put this one on some streaming channel earlier this week. It’s a movie with John Cena about a former special forces soldier. It had some good humor in it.
Spy x Family Code: White - I went to the theater on Monday for their mystery movie Monday thing. They play movies that haven’t been released quite yet. This is what they showed. To be fair, I’m not a big fan of most anime so when I say that I did not care for this movie, don’t take that as me saying the movie sucks because I’m sure there is a large group of anime fans that will absolutely enjoy this movie.
Other than that, I’ve re-watched some stuff on streaming. Most notably, Superman (1978) and Batman Begins.
TRACK OF THE WEEK
California ska-punk band Half Past Two released a new album today called Talk is Killing Me. This is the opening track off that album. The album, by the way, is a banger!
That’s all I got for you this week kids. Have a great weekend and remember to BEMOREKIND!
