Hello again readers. It’s time for another dose of weekly nonsense.
It has been quite a weird week. I finally started working again. I’m working at a call center. Something that I haven’t done in about a decade. Not 100% happy about that but a job is a job I guess. This is also the first time I have worked in an office in about 5 years so having to go into a job is a little weird.
Here are some of last week’s new releases that I thought were worth mentioning:
Knife Proof Earmuffs, a punk/indie/power pop band based out of Springfield, Illinois released One of Them Real Good Times on Might Could Records.
Dublin, Ireland based band The Murder Capital released Blindness on Human Seasons Records.
Ska punk Boston based The Pomps released Partial Eclipse of the Pomps on Bad Time Records.
Melbourne, Australia based indie rock band Tidewinder released Anomalous.
Here are my 10 most listened to artists from the past week:
I only had 2 titles on my pull list last week.
Daredevil #18
Ultimate Wolverine #2
Here is the other stuff that I read this week:
Cyberpunk 2077: Library Edition (collects the stories Trauma Team, You Have My Word, and Blackout).
Stray Dogs by Tony Fleecs
Stray Dogs: Dog Days by Tony Fleecs
Feral Vol. 1: Indoor Cats by Tony Fleecs
Hulk Vol. 1: Red Hulk by Jeph Loeb
Batman: Hush by Jeph Loeb
I did not go to the theater any last week but I did watch a movie on streaming that I had never watched before. It was called Palm Springs. It starred Andy Samberg and Cristin Milioti and was about two people that are stuck in a time loop. Kind of like Groundhog Dog but not entirely the same. It was good. I would recommend it.
Aside from that, since I never got around to finishing the TV series Star Trek: Discovery, I started working on that. I’m pretty far behind. I’m only about halfway through season 2.
Last week on Rebel Nerd Radio we continued our journey to Mordor with a discussion about the Peter Jackson film The Two Towers.
I also recorded another episode of The Comic Den with Spencer on Sunday. We talked about comic book news and had a discussion about the 2008 Hulk story arc Red Hulk by Jeph Loeb.
Blue and I also recorded a new episode of The Batcave. Currently, it is only on our Patreon as an early access episode for our patrons so if you want to watch it, you can join our crew of patrons. Go do it! It’s only $2 a month! Go check it out here!
This week’s track comes from a band based out of Liverpool, UK. It is a single that was released last week on City Slang Records.
There you have it. Short and sweet. No frills this week. Hope you enjoy these things. Catch you next time!
Knife Proof Earmuffs is my new favourite band name (and congratulations on the job)
