Hello there faithful followers! This week’s issue is going to be short one.
As you can see in the picture (and by the title of this week’s issue) winter has started here in Michigan. This will be our first winter up here so it will be interesting to see how everyone reacts to it. I lived in Alaska for 4 years so I’m used to a lot of snow. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean that I like it. It’ll be fine. At least we live in a place where drivers know how to drive on snow and ice. Theoretically speaking of course. I guess I’ll find out for sure when I get out and start driving in it more. By the way, the main image for this week’s issue was a photo taken by my wife.
I will be heading down to Chicago again this weekend with a friend of mine. We are going down to the Cobra Lounge to see The Methadones and The Copyrights. Pretty stoked to see both of these bands again. If you remember, I saw The Methadones in Chicago shortly before I moved to Michigan (see Engineers of Mediocrity and the Chicago Adventure). I haven’t seen The Copyrights in many years.
And here is your weekly cat picture. It’s Andor.
Weird: The Al Yankovic Story - Strangely, other than watching Black Panther: Wakanda Forever again, this is the only movie that I watched this week. It was fun. If you are a fan of Weird Al, you’ll know what to expect from this.
Rogue One Radio
On episode #108, we had another guest join us on the show. This time, it was Sara of the podcasts Hello There and Curiosity Killed the Cat. We talked about the 10th episode of Andor and played tunes from Topsy Turvy’s, Zombiesuckers, and Trashed Ambulance. Check out the replay of the video here or you can listen to the audio on Spotify at the link under that:
I actually got some stuff on my pull list this week. This week, it was Han Solo & Chewbacca #7, Doctor Aphra #26, and (from a new limited series) Hidden Empire #1.
I also finished my re-read of the Ahsoka book, read The Punisher MAX: The Complete Collection, Vol. 1, and started reading the trade paperback version of Thrawn.
Instead of a track of the week, I am going to use this week’s issue to promote a new release that a friend of mine’s band released today. The band is called Dion Warlocke. I think you might really enjoy this album.
Enjoy your weekend and remember to BE MORE KIND!
I'm plotting to move back sometime in the next few years and Fairbanks is on the short list. I lived in Kodiak, Kenny Lake, and Nome across my tenure.
I'm also a former Alaskan. Where did you live?
